It doesn't take long...

It doesn't take long for kids to get to know each other and have fun!! McKenna had a party on Friday night and invited three girls who live in our building, all age 10. She fixed nachos, finger sandwiches, and brownies. McKenna said at first it was very awkward, because the girls came over and were just standing there staring at her. Two of them speak a little English and the other is learning. After eating a little, each of them made a Christmas tree ornament and then they started to watch a movie. About half way into the movie the awkwardness began to wear off...ok...it was completely gone. I walked into our living room at one point and they were playing "keep-away" with a football. I witnessed the Christmas tree almost being knocked over, pictures being knocked over, and girls climbing all over the couch. It was at this point that I turned around and walked out of the living room!!

She had a complete blast and wants to do it again...we are thinking maybe once a month will be good. Please pray for McKenna as she continues to befriend these girls. Below are a few pictures from the evening.

How interesting! Girls are girls, it seems, no matter what the country! It looked like so much fun! It will be neat if they invite you over to their houses, too! You will sure learn the language more quickly through your new friends, and you can really help them with theiur English, too.
