We have been blessed the last few weekends with some of our family visiting us here in Richmond. Rachel’s parents came a couple of weeks ago and this last weekend, my sister, mother, and their husbands were here. The kids had a blast getting to spend time with everyone. Grandaddy spent a lot of time with Philip fishing and even when they weren’t actually at the lake, they were practicing ‘casting’ up by the quad. Philip is now the expert and I think he enjoys that aspect more than actually catching the fish. Grandmommy also showed her skills by helping Claire catch some catfish. This past weekend was also adventure-filled. Maw, Paw,

Co-Co, and Michael took the kids to the Richmond Zoo on Saturday. Of course all family royally spoiled each child while they were here. It was just such an encouragement to us for our family to see where we live and how the IMB is taking care of us while we are here.

One other little note of mention...On Saturday, while the kids were at the zoo, our CEE team met with a local church planter here in Richmond. We went out in the community, door to door, distributing free copies of "The Purpose-driven Life". The only way they could receive this free copy was to sign up for a small group study of the book. This would allow the church planter to eventually share the gospel with each person. Our team had a goal of signing up 25 people for this study and the last count was over 30 people had signed up. I do have a special prayer request from this day...As the team was meeting at a park to end our time, The Holy Spirit prompted me to speak with a man that was fishing...We had a great talk and I was able to share the Gospel with him. He did not know Christ as his personal savior and chose not to make a decision at that time. He was very bitter and mad at God because he had lost his dad 8 years ago to cancer and didn't understand why God would allow that to happen. He did allow me to pray for him though and I would ask that you would simply lift him (Mike) up in your prayer time.

After our time of going door to door, our regional team met at another park to have a cookout. It was a great time of eating, fellowship, eating, and more eating. Did I mention that we got to eat???

Please continue to pray for us, especially this week, as we are having very long days of security training this week....very stressful....pray that our family will have some quality time.
