Update on this last month's events...(part one)

Whheewwwhhhh!

What a month!!! As of last week, we have had a total of 14 volunteer teams here since March. Our two most recent teams were quite special and I wanted to share some about them. The last 10 days of July, our home church, Hixson First Baptist, sent a team of 7. Bob, Gordon, Lisa, Cindy, Jessica, Kourtney, and Savannah worked very hard and were a tremendous blessing!! Their first week, they worked in a Roma camp about 1 1/2 hours away from Krakow. It rained the entire three days they did the camp, but it turned out to be the best camp!! We were able to have the camp in one of the believers home and about 35 children attended each day, with around 10-15 adults attending as well. We were also able to grill lunch for the entire village each day. It was great to see how they loved on the people of the village, played games, sang songs, and taught them God's Word. In return, the people really fell in love with them...they even broke out the instruments and the children danced for them at the end of each day.

Their second week here the focus was in our own neighborhood. We have been doing English camps for children all summer throughout our city. The focus is to teach them English using biblical stories and words. Our main goal is to reach the parents and get them involved in our "Compass" activities. The camp was a huge success. Several praises to answered prayer...After the first week of rain, the weather was absolutely incredible for the entire camp. We averaged about 30 kids each day. I talked with several people that lived by the playground and they were thrilled that we were doing what we were doing...one man even asked if we could do it all summer!! The Police drove by on many occasions, slowed down, looked, and then kept going! Rachel also came up with a wonderful idea to get mom's involved. She had a local Polish believer lead a seminar on parenting, prayer, and discovering who they are in the eyes of God. Several mom's attended each day! The HFBC team even purchased one of the ladies a Bible!
Both weeks were incredible and it was so encouraging to have them here, not only from a ministry standpoint, but from the standpoint of having "family" here to encourage us. Below are pictures from their time here....

Wow! You've been busy for the Lord. I am amazed at how the Lord brings the right people and the right mission together to work for His glory.
