Update on our list....
Thanks to many of you, we have received most of the items that we requested. Many of the food items and medicine needs have been met. We also have received all of our "footlockers" necessary for moving our family. What a blessing our church family has been these last few weeks. I would like to say a special thanks to all the children in the Hixson First Baptist childrens department for all their giving spirits as they provided us with a box full of goods. Everyone's gifts, comments, and prayers greatly encourage Rachel and I as we go through this stressful and challenging time of preparing to leave.

....listening to a performance by the "warsaw village band" (at the kennedy center millennium stage in washington) as i read this update.....the sounds are wonderfully simple.... "real life",homespun polish (with a complex ethnic edge)....but to my ears (and heart)they are sounds of a distant, faraway place....a place where my "little ones" will soon become a part of a culture with ancient ties from which music such as this is born....who knows....before long you may even begin to understand the words which sound exotically strange to me.....i know it will be hard work....so i am very glad, "little ones" that you have enjoyed a bit of vacation at the beach before launching out on this new adventure!....how amazing that God provided a "polish connection" for you THERE!...your first FRIEND!....perhaps he and his friends also know of the warsaw village band, (a possible "door"? to a sharing of cultures?....hey! we've got bluegrass YOU can share!!!....not to mention the unique sounds of "shape-note gospel"!)....music really is a great way to connect....and as i just heard the speaker for this band say, "not a way to spread propaganda, but a way to share truth"!.....i'm glad God has blessed us with the gift of His Truth....and i'm proud you guys are willing to bear that Truth to a faraway and unfamiliar place.....this, of course, is not without tears on my part....and i'll not share any more of my thoughts publicly here for fear of my emotions getting the best of this space and embarrassing everyone :>) for now, blessings from the heart of a mom who only BARELY imagined at your infant dedication that something like this might actually occur 33 years later.....i love you all more than words can say.....my prayer is for your safety.....but if not safety....FAITHFULNESS to your First Love!
